Riad Mahmud Chowdhury Joins Standard Islami Bank as Managing Director.

Renowned banking professional and visionary leader Mr. Riad Mahmud Chowdhury has joined Standard Islamic Bank PLC. as the Managing Director. Prior to this Mr. Chowdhury served as Deputy Managing Director & Head of Corporate Banking at Eastern Bank. Mr. Chowdhury began his banking career in 2000 as a Senior Officer at IFIC Bank. Subsequently he worked at AB Bank before joining Eastern Bank in 2004. In his more than 26 years of illustrious career in banking, he has demonstrated remarkable success in managing large corporate portfolios and non-performing loan as well as developing specialized Islamic banking frameworks and implementing digital cross-border trade solutions. In recognition of his strategic vision, strong leadership, in-depth banking knowledge and innovative mindset, Mr. Chowdhury has consistently achieved significant success at every stage of his professional career. He obtained his B.Com & M.Com in Finance from the University of Dhaka and later completed his MBA in Finance from IBA of the same University. He also holds internationally recognized certification in Commercial Credit Analysis from Moody’s and Omega Corporation (UK).
